Desde hace varias semanas anda circulando en internet el siguiente mensaje, de buzón electrónico en buzón electrónico. Considero que en algo puede ayudar que aparezca en las "bitácoras" o "blogs" de quienes se preocupen por el destino de la lucha que contra políticos racistas sostienen en estos momentos los inmigrantes de múltiples orígenes que trabajan en Estados Unidos (pues su origen no es exclusivamente latinoamericano, sino asiático, centroeuropeo y, en realidad, de todo el mundo). Invito, pues, a algún posible lector de mi bitácora a copiar el mensaje que reproduzco a continuación y a publicarlo en su propio espacio personal; o bien, a que lo imprima y lo ponga en las manos de la gente en la calle; o a que, de cualquier otra forma imaginativa, "haga correr la voz".
Amigo, hermano latinoamericano:
Tú sabes que nuestros hermanos latinoamericanos están luchando por un trato digno en USA, están organizando marchas y manifestaciones para demostrar que no merecen ser tratados como criminales, que están ahí para trabajar, para dar una mejor calidad de vida a sus familias.
Es difícil estar lejos de la tierra natal, es difícil estar lejos de las personas que amas. Nuestros hermanos inmigrantes están dejando su piel, su sangre, su sudor y sus lágrimas en una tierra que no les pertenece, sólo para conseguir dinero para sus familias; nuestros jóvenes se están enrolando en el ejército norteamericano que lucha en Irak sólo para conseguir la legalización a costa de su vida.
NO VAMOS A DEJARLOS SOLOS.
Vamos a demostrar que Latinoamérica no es un gusano que se pueda aplastar. El latinoamericano es un pueblo grande, digno; vamos a demostrar que somos hermanos y que no le estamos quitando nada a nadie.
USA fabrica automóviles, cosecha verduras, limpia pisos, cocina, maquila ropa y construye muros con las manos latinoamericanas que pretende echar de su territorio. Los latinoamericanos conformamos una mano de obra que acepta trabajar muy duro por poco dinero. Y LO HACEMOS POR AMOR, POR AMOR A NUESTROS HIJOS, PADRES, HERMANOS; POR AMOR A NUESTRA TIERRA.
Amigo, hermano, este 1 de mayo vamos a apoyarlos: no consumas KFC, Mc Donalds, Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola ni otra marca norteamericana. LUCHEMOS POR UN TRATO DIGNO PARA NUESTRA SANGRE LATINA.

Friend, Latin American brother:
You know that our Latin American brothers are fighting for a worthy treatment in the USA, are doing marches and manifestations to demonstrate that they don't deserve to be treated like criminals, that are there for working, to give one better quality of life to their families.
It's difficult to be far from the mother country, it's difficult to be far from the people who you love. Our immigrants brothers are leaving their skin, their blood, sweat and tears in a country that does not belong to them, to only obtain money for their family; our Latin young people are enlisting themselves in the American army that fights in Iraq only to obtain the legalization at the cost of its life.
WE ARE NOT GOING TO LEAVE THEM ALONE.
We are going to demonstrate that Latin America is not a worm that can be squashed. Latin America is a great, worthy town; we are going to demonstrate that we are brothers and that we are not quiting them anything to anybody.
USA make cars, harvest vegetables, clean floors, cook, assemble clothes and construct walls with the Latin hands that it tries to throw of his territory. The Latins we are the manual labor that accepts to work hard nearly money. AND WE DO IT FOR LOVE, FOR LOVE TO OUR CHILDREN, PARENTS, BROTHERS; FOR LOVE TO OUR TOWN.
Friend, brother, this May 1 we are going to support them: don't consume KFC, Mc Donalds, Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola nor another North American mark. LET US FIGHT FOR A WORTHY TREATMENT FOR OUR LATIN BLOOD.
